What is PATM?

PATM is a group of medical professionals uniquely configured to remain focused on the concerns of physicians as providers of medical care. Active, vigorous reporting and sharing of new science and the medical practice of transfusion medicine will provide a platform for the recruitment and education of new transfusion medicine physicians. Also, such sharing of practice and opinion will be the basis of the content of the new national medical voice for transfusion. The visibility of such a platform may well attract new physicians towards transfusion medicine as a specialty of the future.

Mission Statement

In an era of rapidly evolving medical science and practice, we will develop and maintain a new medical voice for transfusion medicine. Our voice will be evidence-based, derived through consensus and will represent the medical interest of patients and patient care.

Vision Statement

We are a dedicated, organized group of professionals who regularly communicate on matters pertaining to transfusion medicine and the activities of the professional group. We seek to promote new knowledge in the field, the advance transfusion medicine practice, to foster the education of transfusion medicine professionals, and to participate in forming national policies that affect patients receiving transfusion therapies. We will partner with existing scientific and professional organizations to create synergy with their representative disciplines and to therefore accelerate progress in Transfusion Medicine
